Negotiations in healthcare are becoming increasingly data driven. Furthermore, hospitals and other healthcare providers need to place a greater focus on making sure they receive a fair price for the hard work they deliver each day to their patients.
The Challenge
The Approach
For our client, we implemented a data driven healthcare approach that ensures efficient negotiations and well substantiated contracts.
Problems to be Solved
We identified five key problems that needed to be addressed:
- identify the Key Opinion Leaders;
- understand the dynamics, relationships and networks in the field;
- know the status of other drugs, USP of their own drug, and latest research;
- understand patient associations;
- conform to all privacy regulations, such as GDPR.
The Approach
In four weeks, we built a model to identify all the Key Opinion Leaders and mapped their networks. We also dived into the research in this field and provided a clear overview of the latest developments and projects.
The Solution(s)
Overall, we helped the hospital improve its department that negotiates with health insurance companies. We accomplished this by analysing the situation and building a road map to improve their work processes. As a result, we helped them become more data driven with their healthcare. Additionally, we worked closely in a hands-on manner to align income more closely with the care delivered.
Impact and Benefits for Our Client
As a result of our work, we helped the hospital:
- realise a more realistic and fair income;
- become much more data-driven;
- improve the department for future negotiations.
